Summary

A very enjoyable and well-researched historical novel with an archery theme. Intended for children, although suitable for adults too, it was written by the Carnegie Medal winning author Ronald Welch.

"It is the fourteenth century, and Hugh Fletcher and his band of outlaws live secretly, deep in the forest, relying on their wits and skill with the longbow. But Hugh is restless for more adventure, and when Sir John Carey offers him a commission, to take part in King Edward's campaign against France, Hugh accepts the challenge..."
